Computer training

MAKING THE DIGITAL WORLD A REALITY FOR EVERYONE IN STEVENAGE

Working in partnership with North Herts and Stevenage CVS (NHCVS), Free training is provided on computers/tablets for older people who are beginners/improvers in using computers. Held bi-monthly on Thursdays - contact Age Concern for an appointment.

Being digitally inclusive will help with accessing health appointments and information as well as staying connected with friends, families, and communities, and to continue with education, volunteering, and interests.

NHCVS may also be able to help with assistance in getting connectied to the internet, by providing recycled and refurbished old laptops, tablets,or mobile phones, (donated by members of the public, and redistributed to people who need it in Hertfordshire). Also, NHCVS can provide free six-month Sim cards for Ukrainian refugees who are being hosted in the North Herts and Stevenage area.

Laura Bell, Operations Manager, NHCVS (North Herts and Stevenage Centre for Voluntary Service) writes:

‘We are so proud to be part of this project and enjoying seeing the impact it is directly having on people’s lives. Most people do not even realise that digital poverty is even an issue, we hope to raise awareness and work towards eradicating it across North Herts.’

In addition to the service offered by NHCVS, Age UK Hertfordshire provide computer training in the home. Telephone 0300 345 3446 for more information.
